Dual Recovery Anonymous World Network is Growing

Equally as important, Dual Recovery Anonymous World Network has been established to maintain the integrity of DRA’s founding vision and the core principles within our Preamble, Twelve Steps, and Twelve Traditions.

Our founding vision and core principles do ensure that DRA and growing Fellowship maintain our primary purpose and focus:

  • To help one another achieve dual recovery
  • To prevent relapse
  • To carry the message of recovery to others who experience dual disorders

Clearly, our Fellowship is continuing to grow and evolve.

New DRA members have shared that their Groups are having meetings in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India.

Also, there has been a steady increase in requests for start-up materials from people in many states and countries that include Mexico, the Philippines, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Spain, and the Slovak Republic.

In addition, there are more DRA members who are focusing on the process of developing their Group structure forming DRA Area Intergroups and exploring sponsorship.

DRA is growing in many important ways. At the heart of DRA’s growth, is a growing desire to carry our message, to provide support and to share the miracles we have experienced through the process of dual recovery in action.

Dear DRA Members and Friends:

Thank you for your interest in Dual Recovery Anonymous.  Your calls and letters continue to provide us with encouragement that we are moving in the right direction.

At the present time, we are developing and updating our DRA meeting directory.

If you are aware of any groups, meetings, or Area Intergroups that have formed in your area, we encourage you to let them know about our meeting directory.

We would like to include them so we can direct callers who are looking for DRA meetings and to make the list available on the DRA website.

DRA now offers dual recovery books, DRA logo medallions, chips, key chains, coffee mugs and gifts through our online bookstore.

We encourage members to share their stories of dual recovery, practising the Steps on both chemical dependency and emotional or psychiatric illness, and sponsorship.

We encourage groups to share how they began and navigated beyond the rough spots, what types of meetings they have (Steps, Topics, speaker, Open or Closed) how they got the work out to the community.  Members are also encouraged to share poems, letters, and artwork, etc.

Please feel free to contact the World Network Central Office if we may be of help to you or your group.

Yours in Dual Recovery,

Tim Hamilton, DRA
